    Girls Brigade Love to Sing...

Here we have our Girls Brigade girls all getting in on the act and singing their hearts out. We have the explorers in full costume singing songs from the movie 'Frozen', the Juniors enjoying Karaoke and the Brigaders performing 'Hand Me Down My Silver Trumpet Gabriel'. The singing is a real pleasure to listen to and the explorers performance is especially entertaining to watch. Check out the videos below and they have also been added to our gallery page.

The explorers and the juniors will be singing in church on Remembrance Sunday and Rachel Campbell will be performing a solo.

'Funny Friday' Holiday Club for Primary School Kids

After the success of our Summer Club, we are following on with another school holiday club on Friday 17th October.

The format will be similar to the Summer Club with games, crafts, messy challenges, action songs and a little Bible teaching with activities based on the theme of superheroes. Snacks and drinks will also be provided to the children.

We also have Magic Muddles, a children's entertainer who brings a fresh and exciting approach including magic, party dances, balloon modelling and puppets.

Funny Friday is being held in our church hall and runs from 10-00am to 1-00pm and is open to all children of primary school age (the family does not have to attend Coatdyke). Please arrive at Coatdyke before 10-00am for registration and collect your child at 1-00pm. We have an experienced team of 20 leaders and your children are in good hands.

There is no charge for Funny Friday but you are welcome to donate towards our children's mission work.

    Our Nan 94 years young!

Nan was 94 this week (and is more spry than a lot of 60 year-olds I know!). She has been attending Coatdyke faithfully for the last 65 years and is a well-loved lady known to most of our members. She also has an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of our church and was a great help in helping me compile the History page of our website.

(P.S. Nan is the one one the left.)

    Harvest Sunday Photos

Our wee church was full to capacity for Harvest Sunday and there was a generous amount of food handed in that will be donated to local charities. Thanks to all who contributed food items, to the Girls Brigade choir accompanied by Susan and Kevin, and to the Social Committee for a tasty lunch. Some photos below:

Come One, Come All to Harvest Sunday

We have a Harvest Sunday planned for you in typical Coatdyke style - BIG!

Our full complement of Girls Brigade will be in attendance and the Brigader choir are singing and are accompanied by Kevin and Susan. Our Samba percussion instruments will also be getting put to good use.

We are serving a home-made soup and sandwich lunch with tea and biscuits in the church hall after the service that is being organised by our social committee.

As usual, you can bring along non-perishable food items that can be donated to local charities.

The retiral collection on Sunday is to help fund the next childrens' mission event: Funny Friday on the 17th October.

And Alan, our minister, is returning from holiday and will be preaching this Sunday. We're looking forward to hearing some of his holiday stories...
