Our First Ever Kids Summer Club

As this a momentous year with the Commonwealth games being held in Glasgow, we at Coatdyke thought it would be a great idea to get into the spirit of things by hosting a kids summer club with fitness and games and a bit of Bible teaching too.

Our activities are themed around the Commonwealth Games and will also point toward Jesus as being the King of Kings...

Fit for a King

Our chosen theme is 'Fit for a King' which is a professionally developed program from Scripture Union Scotland. We are also fortunate to have Valerie Sim lead our summer club. Val is the SU Scotland Local Schools Worker for Airdrie and Coatbridge and has considerable experience of running such events.

We have some wonderul activities planned that link with the Commonwealth Games:

  • arts and crafts
  • team games and messy challenges
  • memory verses and quizzes
  • action songs
  • a 5-day drama series - 'Party at the Palace'
  • small group activies around the topic-of-the-day
  • snacks and drinks.

Of course, we want the rest of the family to see what the children have been getting up to so we are hosting an evening where the whole family can attend, enjoy a light buffet and watch the children put on a small show.

When and Where...

The summer club is being held in our own church hall and will run from Monday 28th July to Friday 1st August, 10-00am to 12-30pm. Please download our events program for details of the daily schedule.

The family evening will be held on Thursday 31st July from 7-00pm till 8-00pm.

The club is open to all children of primary school age. The child's family do not have to attend the church, it is open to everyone.

If you wish to participate please 'contact us' from our website, download our registration form and bring the completed form along with you on the first day. If you have received a flyer you will find the registration form on the reverse side.

Donate, only if you wish...

Although there is no actual charge for the summer club, if you wish to donate then we suggest £1 a day.

Our Capable Team...

Rest assured, your children are in good hands as we have an experienced team of leaders and helpers who are long-term members of our congregation and have been fully PVG checked.

Our 20-strong team range from young adults right through to those that would rather be referred to as 'the-young-at-heart' and includes experienced teachers, a medical professional, a catering manager and our minister, Alan Muir.
